How to clean and extend the life of your UGG Boots

1: PROTECT
Cleaning and extending the life of your UGG boot starts from day 1.
    1. Before wearing your new UGG boots for the first time, you will want to add a nice layer of Suede or Leather Stain & Water Repellent to your new boots. You can find the UGG Sheepskin Stain & Water Repellent for just $8. You can use an alternative protectant such as the ReviveX NUBUCK SUEDE & FABRIC WATER PROOFING which can be found at your local Wal-Mart for $7 or in most shoe departments.
    2. Before you start “protecting”, ensure that your boots are clean and dry. For better results, remove excess debris by using a gentle brush or cloth on the surface to remove any residue.
    3. Apply the Stain & Water Repellent outdoors or in a well ventilated area with a lot of air flow. Be sure to give the bottle a good shake before use, then hold the bottle about 6 inches away from the boot to get a nice even spray. Be sure to coat the boot evenly. The boot will be wet, however, the boot should not be soaked.
    4. Once you’ve coated your boots with a nice layer of leather protectant, it is time to let the boots dry naturally for AT LEAST 24 hours. Be sure to let the boots sit in a cool, ventilated space, avoiding direct sunlight and heat. Keep them in a back room or the corner of your closet. Allowing the boots to dry naturally is very important, do no not use a fan or heater to speed up the drying process as this may cause your boots to shrink or become too stiff.
    5. To refrain from any damage to the shape of your boot, try stuffing a few pairs of socks or towels into the boot to maintain its figure while it dries.
     2: CLEAN
After wearing your boots, they will eventually show their age. In order to keep the sheepskin at par, here are some tips to cleaning your UGG boots. You can purchase the UGG Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner for just $8.
      1. Lightly dampen your boots using a cloth or sponge. Apply a dime size amount of Cleaner & Conditioner to your wet cloth or sponge. Gently scrub your boot using a clockwise motion to evenly remove any stains. Once you have finished, use a new damp cloth or sponge to remove the excess residue or debris from your boot.
      2. After cleaning and conditioning, avoid direct sunlight and heat by placing your boots in a cool, ventilated space to dry. Your boots will need AT LEAST 24 hours to dry. Allowing the boots to dry naturally is very important, do no not use a fan or heater to speed up the drying process as this may cause your boots to shrink or become too stiff.
      3. To refrain from any damage to the shape of your boot, try stuffing a few pairs of socks or towels into the boot to maintain its figure while it dries.
      4. Try combing the sheepskin with a soft bristled or suede brush in one direction to achieve a solid consistent look.
      5. Once your boot is dry, reapply the leather protectant.
      6. Boots starting to smell a bit, different? Keep your UGG boots fresh by spraying the inside of each boot with the UGG SHEEPSKIN FRESHENER! You can purchase the UGG Sheepskin Care Kit which combines the Sheepskin Stain & Water Protectant, Sheepskin Cleaner & Conditioner, Sheepskin freshener AND a dual brush all for just $20. Definitely worth the investment.
NOTE: NEVER PUT YOUR BOOTS IN THE WASHING MACHINE OR TAKE THEM TO THE DRY CLEANER
